Robyn Mildon PhD, is the founding Head of the Centre for Evidence and Implementation (CEI). Robyn has a longstanding career focused on the implementation, mainstreaming, and scaling-up of evidence to achieve social impact for children, families and communities in a range of health and human service areas. She has lead a number of national, multi-year initiatives aimed at improving the selection, and use of, evidence to in real-world service and policy settings.
In addition to her Australian-based work, Robyn has built a portfolio of projects collaborating with both government and non-government agencies in countries such as Singapore, Norway, Sweden, the USA and New Zealand, and has been an invited speaker at multiple events around the globe.
Robyn was the founding Chair of the Scientific Program Committee for the 1st and 2nd Australian Implementation Conference (AIC) and is currently the Co-Chair for the 3rd Biennial Australasian Implementation Conference. She is also the founding Co-Chair of the Knowledge Translation & Implementation Group with the Campbell Collaboration. Robyn holds an Honorary Associate Professor position with the University of Melbourne.
Bianca Albers is a Political Scientist by education, and holds a strong interest in the uptake of research in policy development and legislation. In her role with CEI, Bianca is responsible for a portfolio of research synthesis and implementation projects. This includes the production of systematic reviews; the implementation of evidence-informed programs, practices and service models; and building capacity within organisations. Bianca is also engaged in several international initiatives aimed at promoting the science and practice of implementation and evidence-based practice and policy.
Geoff is an experienced social researcher with considerable expertise in social and community service planning and evaluation, including social impact assessment and project evaluation. He brings strong leadership, strategic development, and analytical insights experience in the social services sector. At CEI, Geoff works with a diverse range of public and private sector organisations helping to develop whole of community outcome measures for a variety of social interventions, particularly in socio-economically disadvantaged communities. He is especially interested in building more effective evidence for place-based approaches to improving children’s wellbeing.
James Hennessy is an economist by education, and holds a strong interest in the uptake of evidence in practice and policy to achieve social impact for children and families. James has over 10 years’ professional consulting experience and specialises in project management and assessing the social, economic and financial impacts of policies and programs.
Loyal Pattuwage has over nine years’ experience conducting systematic reviews and developing clinical practice guidelines, and holds a strong interest in evidence-based practice and policy. Prior to his role at CEI, Loyal was involved in developing evidence reviews on high-priority clinical topics for government organisations and policymakers. At CEI, Loyal works with a variety of evidence synthesis and program evaluation projects. He also develops a broad range of plain language summaries for use in policy and practice.
Marg Stott has a background in psychology with broad experience in implementing evidence based practices in both government and non-government organisations. Her work has focused on the implementation of programs in relation to child wellbeing and domestic violence as well as clinical supervision of Multisystemic Therapy teams within the juvenile and disability sectors. In her role with CEI, Marg conducts both practice design and coaching, and is highly skilled in demonstrating the practical application of techniques to help others improve their practice. With years of experience in supporting practitioners’ skill development and acquisition, she is an expert in the implementation and coaching of evidenced based practices.
Nerida Heyward has thirteen years' experience in administrative and Executive support roles working for not for profits, corporate and government organisations. She has a strong interest in community development. Prior to her role at CEI she worked in a genomics research organisation supporting the CEO. Nerida's work with CEI involves the support of the leadership team and the management of the daily administrative functions of the Centre.
Rachel is a public health professional with over 16 years post qualification experience gained in clinical practice and international development policy and advocacy. Rachel is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of vulnerable and marginalised children and families. She specialises in global health policy analysis and the translation of complex issues and evidence into real solutions to achieve health and social change. Rachel has held senior roles within large international NGOs and both public and private sector health services. Rachel’s career spans policy and practice in health equity, maternal, newborn and child health, healthy ageing, climate change and palliative care. Rachel's work with CEI will focus on gathering, analysing, translating and communicating evidence for policy and practice.
Pony completed her PhD program with the Division of Psychology at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. Her focus was how individuals can come to build strong identification with a culture through social others in the socio-cultural milieu. Pony has worked as a teaching assistant at the University, taking on the undergraduate tutorial classes of personality psychology, and statistics in psychology courses. She also worked off-campus at a local polytechnic, teaching various foundational psychology courses to diploma-level students and is currently tutoring for an introductory research method course. At CEI Pony provides research support. She is currently involved in scale validation and testing measurement invariance.
David is an economist with a longstanding interest in using better evidence to inform policy. David has background in consulting, where most recently he was exploring how to apply cost benefit analysis techniques to the evaluation of evidence-based social policy interventions to determine their economic impact. At CEI, David uses his quantitative and consulting skills to engage in a range of projects involving implementation, impact and economic evaluations.
Lauren Hodge is a research academic with a PhD in Psychology. She has 10 years' experience in developing, evaluating and delivering programs for children and families in school and community practice settings. Lauren specialises in evidence-based program planning and implementation support for organisations and practitioners working in child wellbeing and family support. In her role at CEI, Lauren is responsible for supporting agencies to successfully implement effective programs, practices and service models. Lauren’s research activity concerns implementing and sustaining programs with a focus on the facilitators and barriers that can get in the way for organisations, communities and practitioners throughout the implementation process.
Sophia Rinaldis is a social worker with nearly a decade of experience in mental health policy and research. Her experience lies in creating pathways to bring empirical research into policy and programming. She holds a strong interest in using evidence and evaluation to increase equity in the delivery of social services. At CEI, Sophia works in knowledge synthesis and develops high language summaries for use in practice.
